The updated figures (1 July 1993 to 31 December 2007) are as follows:

Total cats rescued = 930
Cheetahs = 603
Leopards = 327

Total cats released 782
Cheetahs = 476
Leopards = 306

% Cats released
Cheetahs Released = 78.9%
Leopards Released = 93.6%

Total % cats released = 86.3%

Total died / euthanased = 3.8%

Total % cats kept at AfriCat = 9.9%

AfriCat is able to continue the work it does thanks to the ongoing support of the TRAVEL INDUSTRY.

This figure inspired the Rehabilitation Programme that was started in 2000.
"Too many orphaned cheetahs that actually have nothing wrong with them. They only came to Africat because they had lost their mother at a young age, but were old enough not to have to be hand-raised!"
