Some of the wildlife you may encounter when visiting OKONJIMA.

Please note:
OKONJIMA stocks their Private Nature Reserve 1:8, which means that 1 (one) antelope potentially has 8 hectares to roam in (there are no internal fences, this simply explains the carrying capacity of the land). This is necessary to ensure sufficient food for both grazers and browsers, as Namibia is an arid country with erratic and highly variable rainfall; this also explains the lack of large herds of antelope or other animals.

OKONJIMA'S activities do not focus on GAME-DRIVES. Our main emphasis is on Large Carnivore conservation and the tracking of Leopards and Cheetah in the Park. Game-drives may, however, be arranged upon request, especially if the stay is extended for longer than the standard 2 nights.
